Not for the faint of heart

I got my bandages changed today and I was amazed and delighted at how nice the surgery incision was healing.  They staple the incision closed.  I'm real glad I was asleep for that part.  They did a regional block for me instead of general anesthesia so that my lungs would not be as effected by the surgery.  They did put me under a 'twilight' sleep.  They told me to open my eyes should I wake up so they would know I wasn't just talking in my sleep.  I did wake up a couple of times and it was absolutely a bizarre experience.  I even woke up once while they where sawing my bones.  Eyes open 'Hello, I'm awake.'   and they quickly got me back to sleep....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz............
