"We are traditionally rather proud of ourselves for having slipped creative work in there between the domestic chores and obligations. I'm not so sure we deserve such a big A-plus for that."
~Toni Morrison~
Since my birthday I have been thinking of many things that I have missed out on due to a life out of balance. I now believe that if I or anybody has to squeeze a creative outlet into thier lives and that creative outlet often or most often loses out to everyday obligations we are much poorer for it. Apparently Toni Morrison figured that out for now she is an internationally known bestselling author. My mom was a very talented artist. She did a couple of drawings while I was little but than life got in the way and it wasn't till I was in my teens that she started taking pictures on vacation. When I went off to college mom took up her drawing and painting again. She hadn't done very many paintings before her paintings started going on tours. Then she got sick and was not able to do much with her talents and not too many years later she died and all that pent up talent and joy on her part went with her.
So here I am close to being an empty nester (the youngest moved back in) and I've got my room for my art work, mom did too, and I'm sick and very limited in what I can do
